Encapsulation of Insulin

Oral delivery of insulin can help bypass the pain caused by injection for patients with diabetes. From literature review, we have learnt multiple methods can be applied to encapsulation of insulin, depending on different materials being used. The research intends to explore ways of encapsulation that are more suitable in aspects of cost and efficiency. The encapsulation will be done in forms of both nanoparticles and liquid. Encapsulation efficiency will be tested using zetasizer. In vitro/vivo tests will also be tested in collaboration with medicine department. We are inviting collaborations from industrial partners to fund this research direction. Please contact Dr. Anubhav Singh at anubhav.singh@ubc.ca, if you are interested.
